Md. Al Zabed Sarkar, Staff Reporter :: SCDB Leadership Bootcamp for Dreamers, a leadership development programme, held on October 7 at Sea Shell Park, Purbachal, Dhaka with aims to generate innovative thinking and develop leadership skills for better career opportunities. Students and professionals from different universities and organizations across the country participated in the daylong leadership programme of the School of Career Development, Bangladesh (SCDB).
SCDB team facilitated the bootcamp in both practically and theoretically to enhance the leadership knowledge. At the bootcamp, the participants were got to know about self-development that can help them to choose the right decision of their career. In the camp, the participants utilized a blend of vast discussions, peer consultations, case study analyses and experiential leadership role-play. The Bootcamp educational modules, created and conveyed by a prepared group of SCDB trainer and facilitators, was gone for creating self-awareness, critical thinking, correspondences, and cooperation abilities of the participants.
“Leadership is not about a tittle or a designation, It’s all about impact, influence and inspiration” The motivating words came from Md. Manik Hossain, Founder and President of School of Career Development, Bangladesh (SCDB) and the lead mentor of the SCDB Leadership Bootcamp for Dreamers. Rezwanul Islam Rezvi, Co-founder of SCDB quoted to the participants that people from all walks of life can practice leadership and they should. Aminur Rahman Chowdhury, Head of IT SCDB, talked how technology can help leaders to spread the knowledge. Guest speaker Mr. Zumrat Hossain Sajan from Bangor University, UK had a discussion with the participants regarding the challenges of a leader. Special guest speaker Mr. Suman Saha, Lecturer, Independent University, Bangladesh talked about leadership qualities and management process of team building.
The programme was divided over two parts with each focusing on a different learning outcome. On the first part, the participants explored how to build a team and work in a team. On the second part, the participants discovered their own leadership techniques by reflecting on their postulation about authority and ability influence on leadership.
