Zafor Ahmed Shimul:: Former Dean of Dhaka University of Engineering and technology (DUET) Professor Dr Ganesh Chandra Saha officially joined as the Vice-Chancellor of Dhaka International University(DIU)
On Wednesday (April 1) Dhaka University of Engineering and Technology (DUET) – former professor of civil engineering. Ganesh Chandra Saha has joined Dhaka International University as Pro Vice-Chancellor.
On this occasion, a reception was organized at the permanent campus swimming pool of the university. The reception was presided over by the Registrar of the University, Prof. Md. Rafiqul Islam.
On the occasion Dr. Ganesh Chandra Saha said, ‘I am determined to build Dhaka International University as a model university. I will be trying always my best to take Dhaka International University forward. I will do my best to improve the quality of education and research in Bangladesh.
He further said, “Dhaka International University has an international standard laboratory and laboratory which will help me a lot in my research work with my students. I am very happy and overwhelmed to get this important responsibility.
At the reception, Ganesh Chandra Saha was received with flowers by the Dean, Head of Department, Teachers, Officers and Employees of DIU.
It is to be mentioned that this year (March 17), the President advocate Abdul Hamid and the Chancellor of DIU Mr.Abdul Hamid appointed Professor Dr. Ganesh Chandra Saha as Pro Vice-Chancellor for 4 years.
Pro Vice-Chancellor Prof. Ganesh Chandra Saha was born on 1 October 1963 in the village of Elasin in Delduar upazila of Tangail district to an aristocratic Hindu family.
Since joining the duet in 1993, he has held important positions, including department heads, directors and deans. Many of his research articles in Environmental Engineering have been published in national and international journals!”
