PM unveils new chancery building foundation in Bhutan

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has unveiled the foundation stone plaque of a new chancery building of the Bangladesh embassy in Bhutan’s capital Thimpu.

The Premier accompanied by Bhutanese King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck unveiled the plaque on Wednesday (April 19), the second day of her three-day state visit in Bhutan.

Prior to the unveiling, Bangladesh Foreign Minister AH Mahmood Ali and Bhutan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Damcho Dorji signed a land transfer agreement in presence of Sheikh Hasina and her Bhutanese counterpart, Tshering Tobgay

The national flag of Bangladesh was raised on the spot and the national anthem was played after the unveiling of chancery foundation.

Earlier on Wednesday morning, the PM inaugurated the ‘International Conference on Autism and Neurodevelopmental Disorders’ in Thimphu.

The Bangladesh prime minister arrived in Thimpu on Tuesday on a three-day trip. Six agreements and Memoranda of Understanding (MoU) were signed on the first day of the trip.
